 | Caring for your Silver Sterling silver will tarnish with time and wear. To clean your silver jewellery use a high quality cloth. Those which are impregnated with silver polish are particularly effective.
Store individual pieces separately to avoid scratching. Protect by wrapping in soft fabric and storing in a cool, dry place.
Avoid contact with chemicals, perfume, hair spray and deodorant. |
| What is Sterling Silver? Sterling silver is a metal containing at least 92.5% silver, with the remaining 7.5% mainly being made up of copper. It is not permitted to use nickel in the alloy, as it can cause allergic reactions.
This is the legal standard of purity set by the assay offices in Britain and is used for most silver jewellery throughout the world. It means the metal used is of a specific quality. Pure silver is never used, as it is too soft to be practical.
All the silver jewellery we sell is made of sterling silver, and is guaranteed nickel free. |
